CAREER OBJECTIVES
My career interests lie in identifying geospatial problems and solving them efficiently and accurately through
end-to-end system design, data acquisition, and data processing. This includes advancing the fusion of
remotely sensed data from different modalities to explain diversity and change in environmental systems,
enhancing feature extraction, and assessing this information and quality of data products at different scales.
TECHNICAL WORK EXPERIENCE
Esri, Inc.
Imagery Scientist (Disaster Response Team)
Responsibilities: As part of the Disaster Response Team, identify and make
available recent satellite and aerial imagery over priority areas which have
incurred disaster, along with analytics to produce actionable information
products.
Accomplishments:
· Making Digital Globe satellite imagery (WorldView 2, WorldView 3) available as tile packages for
consumption in ArcGIS online, along with extracting actionable information such as relief tent areas from
the imagery.
Esri, Inc.
Imagery Scientist (Professional Services)
Responsibilities: Responding to and solving customer geospatial problems to
create and develop customized solutions using Esri's ArcGIS and open source
software. As part of Database Services, this includes problems and solutions
related to remotely sensed data, including aerial and satellite imagery, radar, and
lidar data. Past and Present efforts include:
Accomplishments:
• Probabilistic 3D model generation and point cloud extraction from unordered image collections.

Feature identification from lidar point cloud data, including buildings, trees, and water bodies.
• Multidimensional image creation from point cloud data
• Pattern recognition in agricultural scenes through object based image analysis.
• Right-of-way encroachment of lidar points for vegetation management

Shadow masking in RGB and RGB-NIR images
Statistic-based dynamically thresholded surface difference mapping
• Object and statistic based change detection from RGB imagery incorporating machine learning

TECHNICAL SKILLS

RESEARCH EXPERIENCE
Rochester Institute of Technology, Rochester, NY
Research Assistant
Responsibilities: Conduct research in order to compose and publish journal
articles in the field of remote sensing with specific application of waveform
LiDAR to assessing vegetation structure and variability.
Rochester Institute of Technology, Rochester, NY
Graduate Research Assistant
Responsibilities: Analyze and processed high dimensional remotely sensed data
acquired from the Carnegie Airborne Observatory (CAO) Alpha System based out
of Stanford University, California. Operate on hyperspectral as well as discretereturn
and fully-digitized waveform LiDAR data sets.
Accomplishments:
· Developed relationships and measurements from LiDAR waveforms which describe surface interaction,
estimate field-measured biomass and describe structural diversity across a land use gradient in and around
Kruger National Park, South Africa.
·
·
Gained valuable experience using Matlab environment to develop algorithms to process returned
waveform LiDAR data in order to extract features and establish above mentioned relationships.
Gained valuable experience using ENVI v4.0 and Matlab to process multidimensional data (hyperspectral as
well as waveform LiDAR) to evaluate land cover types in a savanna ecosystem.
· Understanding of system-level and physics based data acquisition for multi/hyperspectral and LiDAR sensor
systems.
